Upcoming Activities
Our schedule for the next 2 months is as follows:
May 1st, Regular GS meeting 4-5:30 pm at JMPC (John McMillan Presbyterian Church)
May 8th, Regular GS meeting 4-5:15 pm at JMPC, Parents are invited to come at 5:15 pm for a play and for the girls to earn their "Tell a Story" award
May 15th, Regular GS meeting 4-5:30 pm at JMPC ("I like the way you..." slips are due at this meeting. Please write down your daughter's strengths)
June 5th, Regular GS meeting 4-5:30 pm at JMPC. This will be our last meeting of the year until September.
Girl Scout Day Camp will be June 18th - 21st in South Park, Details to follow
Girl Scout Community Camp will be July 20-22nd at Roy Weller, WV, Details to follow
Registrations for next year can be done online. You should have all received an email from GSWPA explaining how to do this. If you would prefer not using their online registration you can write a check to our troop (Troop 51395) and I can register your daughter for you.
We would like to use our troop funds to take the girls on a tour of Laurel Caverns this summer. Please let me know if you would prefer that we plan this trip for a weekend or a weekday or if you have no preference.
Bethel South Service Unit will be hosting a camp weekend for our Girl Scout troops at Roy Weller the weekend of July 20-22, 2012! Camp Roy Weller is a beautiful Girl Scout owned campsite located in Bruceton Mills, Preston County, WV (a little over an hour from Bethel Park). It has an ecosystem of meadows, forests, hills, ravines, trails, streams and ponds. A Saturday only option is available for our youngest troops. More details to follow.
Service Unit camping trips take many volunteers to guarantee a successful weekend. Planning meetings will be held immediately following monthly service unit meetings in January, February, March and April. A representative from each troop is asked to attend- this does not mean this is for leaders only. Parents, please considering helping your daughter's service unit by taking part in the planning process!
Planning meeting dates/times (8 pm start): January 2, February 6, March 5, and April 2, 2012.
All meetings will take place at John McMillan Presbyterian Church, 875 Clifton Road, rooms 16/18.
